During my internship with Sports Illustrated, I pitched and created a long form data journalism project tackling the issue of campus safety during college football season. In order to create this piece, I requested and obtained police records at 32 universities and analyzed the differences between reported crimes on game days and non-game days. I then constructed an illustration of how crime spikes on game days at large football schools, and the amount and types of crimes that occur.
